It provisions the device with the required model-specific settings and authorization data so HDR content can be displayed with accurate color, contrast, and tone mapping, in line with Dolby Vision specifications.

Designed for minimal user interaction, the utility is typically preinstalled and may run during manufacturing, first boot, or after service events such as a motherboard or display replacement. IT administrators can also include it in custom images to preserve Dolby Vision capabilities across deployments.
